Alarm for Cobra 11: The Motorway Police Season 4 (1998)

Andrea is worried about her sister Katrin, who belongs to the doomsday cult "Sun Children". A rescue attempt fails, and Andrea is captured during another attempt. The cult is preparing a collective suicide in a warehouse. Semir and André are frantically searching for Andrea and the cult, while the time until 12:00 is running out.

The singer of the techno band "Scooter", Hans-Peter Baxxter, is kidnapped. The perpetrators demand a ransom of 2 million marks and leave no room for negotiations. André is friends with H. P. and takes over the ransom handover with Semir. The handover fails, but two of the kidnappers are arrested. The drug-addicted leader of the group becomes increasingly desperate and megalomaniacal and manages to escape with his hostage. However, he is so angry about the police action that he seriously injures H. P. and secures his hiding place with live mines. The singer is in danger of bleeding to death.

Tennis player Bettina Fürst steals 2 million marks from her father's safe and flees. What she doesn't know is that the money belongs to the gangster Seibel, who is putting pressure on her father. André and Semir investigate her car accident and find her. Bettina wants to help her father, but the hidden money has disappeared, which makes the situation dangerous for everyone involved.

Four brothers rob a bank and flee to a rest stop, where they take hostages, including the heavily pregnant Jeanette and Anna Engelhardt. André hides and informs Semir, while the brothers become increasingly nervous. Jeanette gives birth to her child under dramatic circumstances. When the leader Josef tries to free the brothers with a helicopter, Semir jumps onto the skids.

The petty criminal Hassan is a bartender in a brothel and has already served several prison sentences because of his recklessness. But now he is arrested on suspicion of murder. He tried to sink his car to collect the insurance money. In short: insurance fraud. Stupid, because his recklessness gets him caught again and the police find the body of a gold buyer in the trunk of his car. At first it doesn't help that he is Semir's cousin. But André and Semir support him because no one can believe that Hassan is really a murderer. So far he has only been punished for minor criminal activities, but will he get off so lightly this time?

At a motorway service station, several drivers are poisoned with a sleeping pill, causing accidents. André and Semir discover that temporary worker Ronald Balz is behind it. Balz believes that people are possessed by the devil and wants to "free" them with poison. André also falls victim to his attack, but Semir saves him. Meanwhile, Balz is planning one last major poison attack on the motorway.

A biker gang has to fight a youth gang over their territory for drug dealing. A street war threatens. The situation escalates when Atze, one of the bikers, stabs the best friend of Jörg, the underage member of the street kids. The youth gang wants revenge. André and Semir learn about the argument through the murder. They also find out that Jörg is still a minor. Attempts to explain to him that this is a vicious circle, violence begets counter-violence, in which he is in, fail. Jörg still wants revenge. And then Atze falls into the hands of the street kids. With Jörg's sister, they try to free the boy from the vortex of violence and crime.

The driver is killed in a truck accident. Semir and André discover that the vehicle has been tampered with and come across a series of accidents caused by the accident commissioner Lutz Heitkamp and the brothel owner Jürgen Henze. The two tamper with trucks in order to collect insurance claims and resell the damaged goods cheaply. But when a driver dies, their business is in danger. The truck driver Manni also finds out about the machinations and wants to secure a share of the profits without realizing the danger he is putting himself in.

André and Semir investigate an accident involving a fruit truck, where they find the body of Semir's old friend Thomas Born, who was shot. Semir learns that Born was involved in drug dealing and corruption. Semir visits Born's wife Daniela, who leads him to Meffert, but Meffert is kidnapped. Semir discovers that Daniela is behind the criminal activities and has used him as a means to an end.

While training in his karate club, André is unexpectedly attacked by Olaf, a student. Olaf dies, although André only puts up a light fight. Inspector Kindermann then charges André with manslaughter and highway inspector André is suspended from duty. But Semir stands by his colleague. With the help of a doctor friend, he finds out that Olaf must have died from an undetectable doping agent. No coincidence - Olaf's death is a revenge plan by Unger, whom André once put in prison. Unger also manages to give André the drug that causes a heart attack when overexerted. A fight to the death ensues between the two.
