Alarm for Cobra 11: The Motorway Police Season 1 (1996)

Frank Stolte and Ingo Fischer hunt the blackmailer "Rascar Capac", who carries out bomb attacks and demands one million marks. After failed money handovers and further attacks, including a pile-up and an attack on traffic policeman Bodmer, an explosives analysis leads to a former bomb maker in prison.

After Mareike broke up with him, Frank can no longer concentrate on his work. He has no idea that the man he thinks is Mareike's new lover is the head of a gang of brutal protection racketeers. When an incident at Mareike's rest stop leaves someone dead, Ingo Fischer follows her. He notices that Mareike is also being put under pressure by the protection racketeering mafia and wants to intervene.

After the death of his partner Ingo Fischer, Frank Stolte is given a new colleague: Detective Inspector Semir Gerkhan. Despite initial differences, work comes first: for some time now, luxury cars have been stolen just hours after they have been bought. There is no trace of the perpetrators.

Katja, a Hungarian woman, is found dead on the side of the highway as another victim in a series of murders of prostitutes. At the same time, truck driver Rick is also murdered. Inspectors Gerkhan and Stolte initially see no connection between the violent crimes. But then traces of the dead Katja's blood are found in Rick's truck...

Attorney Sawatzki dies in a head-on collision, although his car was in perfect working order. Investigations show that a rare giant spider in the car sent the arachnophobic attorney into a fatal panic. Suspects are his wife Julia, her lover Wessels and father-in-law Schlesinger. Who used the spider and caused the accident?

The gangsters Schmitt and Swoboda kidnap the diabetic Sven, but Swoboda secretly helps him escape. In the forest, Sven meets Wilhelm, who suffers from Alzheimer's and helps him with chocolate. While Schmitt pursues the two, Swoboda tries to distract him. Stolte and Gerkhan chase the gangsters. The showdown ends in a forest chapel.

The gangsters Pirnau and Wehners make the highway unsafe by robbing drivers disguised as police officers. Stolte and Gerkhan quickly track them down, but also want to arrest the people behind the crime. Pirnau notices that the police are on his trail and sets his girlfriend on Semir Gerkhan.

A young couple has been abused for illegal drug experiments. While 18-year-old Yoko dies as a result, her boyfriend Lukas is brought to hospital in time. Stolte and Gerkhan are not alone in their search for the murderer. Yoko's father had promised his daughter to a Japanese business friend, who now wants to avenge her death on his own.

When the dealer Sascha and the cocaine-addicted bank robber Steffi find themselves cornered by the police at a motorway service station, they take the passengers of a coach hostage.
