

The fourth series of Top Gear began on 9 May 2004, and concluded on 1 August 2004. The series contained 10 episodes. The series was subsequently followed by one "Best Of Top Gear" special, charting the best moments from the series, and "Stars In Fast Cars", a Sport Relief charity special, which later spawned its own series.

Episode 1
The trio race from London to Monte Carlo, with Richard and James using high-speed trains and Jeremy on the road in an Aston Martin DB9. With special guest Fay Ripley.
Episode 2
The team check out the Cadillac Escalade and an Alfa Romeo 166, and a nun drives a monster truck. Paul McKenna hypnotises Richard, and is the Star In A Reasonably Priced Car.
Episode 3
The trio are challenged to find a functioning car for £100 or less, and the Porsche GT3 RS and Ferrari 360 CS compete on the race track. Jordan is in the Reasonably Priced Car.
Episode 4
Jeremy is challenged to drive 800 miles on one tank of petrol in an Audio V8 Quattro, while James wonders if homing pigeons are better than satnavs. With guest Ronnie O' Sullivan.
Episode 5
The BMW 645i, Porsche 911 Carrera 2 and Jaguar XKR are put to the test on the sand dunes of Wales. Denise Van Outen and Johnny Vaughan are in the Reasonably Priced Car.
Episode 6
Richard wonders if the cars of the future could be run on methane, and Jeremy tests the Nissan Cube. Terry Wogan is this week's Star In A Reasonably Priced Car.
Episode 7
The new tall hatchbacks, the Ford Focus C-Max and Renault Scenic, are put to the test as minicabs in south London. Lionel Ritchie is this week’s Star In A Reasonably Priced Car.
Episode 8
The trio look at the new Ford GT40, Maserati Quattroporte and Toyota Prius, and have a diesel versus petrol hot hatch race. Martin Clunes is this week’s guest star.
Episode 9
The focus is on convertibles, featuring the Mini Cabrio, Vauxhall Tigra, Mercedes SLK and the Audi S4. With guest star Sir Ranulph Fiennes.
Episode 10
In the final episode of the series, Richard races a Peugeot 407, James is bargain hunting in a Volvo V50, and Jeremy tests out the new BMW X3. With guest star Patrick Kielty.
