The sixth season of the American television comedy series Rules of Engagement initially received a 24-episode order and was set to debut on Saturday, October 15, 2011, but relocated to Thursdays due to the low ratings developing from How to Be a Gentleman. After CBS announced the two comedies would swap timeslots, they set the Season 6 debut as October 20, 2011 at 8:30 PM. Effective January 12, 2012, CBS removed Rules of Engagement from its Thursday lineup, replacing it with the new sitcom Rob starring Rob Schneider. CBS announced that Rules would return to its Thursday 8:30 PM time slot at a later date. After Rob's run of its initial eight episode order, Rules returned March 29 for eight weeks of new episodes. Thus, the sixth season was cut from 24 episodes to 15.

Jeff has found a way to talk to his wife without having to physically talking to his wife through an app on his phone by telling her what ever he wants by having his voicemail go straight to her voicemail. Adam has a salesman come to his defence after his friends pick on him for some bad choice in picking his clothes.
Cheating
Audrey tries to persuade Jeff to eat healthier when he is diagnosed with high cholesterol, but he can't help sneaking around with Brenda for unhealthy food. Meanwhile, Russell tries to keep up with his new college intern on the party circuit.
The Chair
A battle of wills ensues when Audrey won't admit she hates an armchair that Jeff pretends to love; Russell sues Timmy for sexual harassment.
Scavenger Hunt
In order to convince Audrey he is making an effort in their relationship, Jeff sends her on a romantic scavenger hunt, with mixed results. Meanwhile, Adam leads Russell to believe that Jen has a sex tape.
A Big Bust
When Audrey thinks her maid needs help getting money to fix her limp, she asks her neighbours to help contribute, only to find out she misunderstood what the maid needed the money for.
After the Lovin'
Jeff discovers that Audrey uses sex to get what she wants, while Russell and Timmy make a commercial for their new soup spoon.

Timmy is determined to reconnect with a woman he shared a romantic moment with on the subway. Meanwhile, Audrey and Jeff blame each other when they're snubbed by a couple they previously went out with.
