The Next Step Season 8 (2022)

After months out of the studio, Nick announces that the nationals are back on - but which team is going? A-troupe and B-troupe must face off with five one-on-one matches to find out. However, a lot has changed, and things aren’t the way they used to be. At the end of the day, there is only room for one team to continue on the road to the nationals, and Richelle and Summer each make a choice that changes everything.

Now that B-troupe is officially going to the nationals, Cleo isn’t so sure they have earned it. Nick has concerns of his own, but an A-Troupe legend visits and shares that there is another, controversial, way to ensure the very best team represents the studio at the competition. As Cleo turns on her teammates, Richelle relies on hers after an upsetting run-in with a certain someone, and Ozzy speculates as to whether there is someone leaking private information about TNS.

Young, talented, and hungry dancers show up for the challenge, but as Cleo helps Nick, she resolves to give up her spot as dance captain and audition just like the rest of her old teammates. Meanwhile, Richelle, Piper, Amy, Finn and Kingston go to a Radiation performance, where Finn finds his new obsession! And Richelle reconnects with an old friend who might be able to help the team go pro.

Auditions continue, and a new A-troupe is formed, ending the journey to nationals for some and creating a new beginning for others.

Richelle and Shad hold auditions to find a soloist to be the lead in Step Inside. When one of the dancers has conflicting feelings about the team’s choice to forgo nationals, they dance out their emotions, which results in Richelle and Shad offering them the role. Meanwhile, Jude finds a way for Cleo to still go to nationals, with disastrous consequences.

Reeling from the loss of Kenzie, Richelle asks the Step Inside team to show her their best duets to prove their commitment, and Kingston struggles to set boundaries. Meanwhile, as her first act as dance captain, Kenzie asks Ethan, Ebby and Daisy to create a trio, and Ethan has trouble collaborating with his team. As the two teams each struggle with growing pains, the studio is shaken with totally unexpected news.

Lily tries to avoid her feelings about the recent Tea_araBling video by focusing on a small group dance with Amy and Piper, and Ozzy embarks on finding a perfect venue for Step Inside for Richelle, which helps her see him in a new light.

Kenzie auditions three dancers for the Nationals solo, but when one of them challenges the Dance Captain Diary’s wisdom, Kenzie struggles to realize that her idea of what a perfect Nationals solo is might not be the right option. Meanwhile, Ozzy and Heath’s investigation into the mole at the studio reveals a new potential suspect. ight option.

Richelle and Shad work together to convince Nick to invest in Step Inside and must contend with his eager visions of what makes a good show. Piper and Amy decide to sabotage Amy’s audition for the Manhattan Institute of Drama and Dance for the sake of going pro with Step Inside, immediately regret the decision and try to undo it. Cleo loses faith in the one thing that she’s always believed in.

Shad surprises Richelle, and they share a beautiful moment, but just as they’re starting to connect, he takes one of many mysterious phone calls. Heath decides that it’s up to him to mend Ozzy and Kingston’s relationship, but what he thought would be a harmless night with his friends turns into a shocking and revealing hunt for the mole.

When the mole’s identity is revealed, Richelle and the Step Inside cast must start from scratch the day before their big performance!

With showtime approaching, and an online audience waiting, the pressure is on. However, Richelle discovers she may be about to lose everything she has worked for.

Piper and Amy bet on themselves in an attempt to impress Drew before Richelle, and TNS dance what might be their final number as a team.

A-troupe throws a surprise party, but Richelle isn’t the only one surprised when a certain someone turns up at the studio and threatens their chances at nationals.

Kenzie considers giving one of her old teammates a second chance, while her current teammates prepare to audition for the nationals duet.

Kenzie must choose the alternates for A-troupe, while Piper plans a grand gesture for Finn.

Ozzy accompanies Richelle to the pro-division qualifier, where she will face off against the best of the best. Meanwhile, Jude goes to great lengths to feel seen by Kenzie.

Lucien pops in to wreak havoc at the studio, leading the dancers to feel inadequate.

Anthony is suspicious of Jude’s new-found choreography genius, and Richelle believes Ozzy's new girlfriend has an ulterior motive.

Cleo receives a surprising offer that threatens to jeopardise her relationship with Jude, while Jude must make a hard choice that affects her future on A-troupe.

The nationals small group dance is in trouble, causing Pete to come up with a plan.

Izzy tries to help Jett with an issue that threatens her nationals opportunity.

The Next Step finally make it to nationals! Ebby performs her solo, competing against a familiar face, and Richelle runs into an old friend of her own.

Dylan’s connection to a guest judge puts the fate of the small group in jeopardy.

Daisy risks everything to earn Heath’s trust back, while Richelle battles for The Next Step in the pro-division round.
